Assoc. Prof. Tran Cong Duyet, MD, PhD is a foremost authority, a premier pioneer, and the foundational figure of Medical and Surgical Laser Applications in Vietnam, boasting over 50 years of distinguished dedication to national medicine (including 41 years as a military physician, with 8 years spent directly treating wounded soldiers on the fierce battlefield of Route 9 – Khe Sanh – Quang Tri). He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from Hanoi Medical University in 1968, successfully completed his postgraduate fellowship and brilliantly defended his Medical Doctorate dissertation in Moscow (Russian Federation) in 1980, and was conferred the academic title of Associate Professor of Surgery by the State in 2004. He has held prestigious positions including Senior Colonel, Director of the Biomedical Physics Branch at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (Ministry of National Defence), Head of the Southern Representative Bureau of the Journal of Practical Medicine (Ministry of Health), and currently serves as President of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Medical and Surgical Laser. At Sante General Hospital, Assoc. Prof. Tran Cong Duyet, MD, PhD serves on the Senior Medical Advisory Board, personally presiding over advanced consultations and spearheading the application of laser technology in Percutaneous Laser Disc Decompression (PLDD) for spinal herniation, surgical interventions, and aesthetic plastic surgery.
